Charice Pempengco: The Youtube Sensation

Charice Pempengco

Born: May 10, 1993
Origin: Cabuyao, Laguna in the Philippines,

Charice is the eldest of two children of Ricky and Racquel Pempengco. She has a younger brother named Carl. Her parents separated when she was only a toddler and she stayed with her mother since then. She started singing at age 4 with Rachel acting as her primary voice coach.

At age 7, she started joining amateur singing contests mostly in town fiestas in their province of Laguna.

Charice made a name for herself in 2005 on a show called “Little Big Star” a reality-talent show in the Philippines that is being hosted by the Asia's Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo. She was eliminated right away after her very first performance. But she was later called back as a wildcard contender and eventually worked her way up until the finale show. She placed 2nd Runner Up where she came in third, and she’s been heating up YouTube ever since.

Susan Boyle: Road to Sucess

SUSAN BOYLE : Internet Celebrity

Bord: April 1, 1961
Origin: Blackburn, West Lothian, Scotland

(Susan is the youngest of nine children and lives in Blackburn, West Lothian with her ten year old cat, Pebbles. She stopped her pursuit of singing to look after her sick mother who died in 2007 aged 91. After her mother's death, Susan did not feel like going back to singing, but then, luckily for everyone, entered Britain's got Talent.)

Susan Boyle became an instant TV and Internet sensation in April of 2009, when she wowed viewers of the TV show Britain's Got Talent by singing the tune "I Dreamed a Dream" from the musical Les Miserables. Boyle is a plump and ordinary-looking woman from Blackburn, West Lothian, Scotland, and the show's judges (including the ascerbic Simon Cowell) seemed ready to hoot her off the stage during a brief interview before her performance. But then she staggered both judges and audience with her polished and emotional performance of "I Dreamed a Dream." A week later a clip of her song had been viewed 25 million times on YouTube, and Boyle was a sudden star in both the UK and the US. Boyle will return for the next rounds of the show at the end of May 2009.

Boyle's audition was actually taped in January of 2009, but didn't air until three months later... She told the judges she was unmarried and unemployed and had "never been kissed" (though she later told the Associated Press that last comment was a joke)... The Daily Mirror reported that Boyle "has never had a boyfriend and was bullied because of her appearance while growing up."
